Avenger - Performance ..... ?

After 5 months of driving Bajaj Avenger, I have mixed response. At some points it supersedes other bikes, while at some it exhibits poor performance. Let me focus on some of the pros and cons

Cons -:
1) Chain doesn’t have any cover, this force the user to lubricate it too frequently.
2) Chain has something to do with suspension, because whenever Chain gets loose , suspension improves. It means when we tumble while the bike in motion, it stretches Chain.
3) Suspension is big setback for such a bike. there is a room for lot of improvements in suspension mechanism.
4) The Headlight is very bright, but only when you are more than some speed (3-2kmph) , if you stop and release the accelerator, the Headlight doesn't illuminate properly (something to do with electrical).
5) No fuel indicator.

Pros -:
1) Very comfortable ride , can ride more than 4 hrs continuously.
2) Good throttle response.
3) better stability at higher speeds.

Note : If any Bajaj techie reads this and has a solution for some of my problems , please guide me instead of arguing

My new Avenger - Blue

Finally on the auspicious day of “Gudhipadva” I bought my new bike, - A blue Avenger. It's gross weight is 285Kgs with a curb weight of 157kg approx. for an average guy like me . it was bit difficult to handle this bike for first couple of days.

Although I’m waiting for a vehicle number from RTO (I need a number with the sum of 9) I drive it near to my residence in night. It has superb stability and have a very smooth throttle. The gears transition is so smooth that at some time I don’t realize whether the gear has been changed or not. I’ve lot of expectation from this bike for long drives that I will do while traveling to my office. But according to one of my friend , its somewhat difficult to control the bike in heavy traffic.
Anyway, I’ll test this bike for two more weeks and then post a saperate blog for it’s performance on roads.
